Keyboard, mouse and menus

Every key, every mouse gesture and every menu item, by place.

Hold the mouse over any key of the interface to see its name and its shortcut. On this page, Cmd is the Command key.

Play

`Return`	Play / Stop. Sample screen: the selected track's pattern. Multitrack and Mixer: the song from the cursor.
`Space`	Stop if playing. Otherwise, on the Sample screen with a slice selected: play that slice once. Otherwise: play.
`Space` twice quickly	Sample screen: play the whole pattern from its start.
`Home`	Cursor to bar 1 (Multitrack, Mixer).
`L`	Loop on / off (the toolbar's Loop).
`K`	Metronome on / off.

Screens, tracks and pages

`Cmd`+`1` / `2` / `3`	Sample / Multitrack / Mixer screen.
`1` to `8`	Select track 1 to 8.
`Cmd`+`B`	Show or hide the sample browser.
`Cmd`+`,`	Show or hide the Audio / MIDI settings.
`Cmd`+`R`	Show or hide the record page.
`Esc`	Close the open page, or the browser when it lies over the screen. On the import page: cancel.
`Cmd`+`=` / `-` / `0`	Interface bigger / smaller / back to 100 %.

Sample screen

`Cmd`+`L`	Load a sample into the selected track.
`Left` / `Right`	Select the previous / next slice.
`Delete` or `Backspace`	Delete the selected blocks. With only a slice selected: silence it.
`Cmd`+`D`	Copy each selected block right after itself.
`Cmd`+`C`	Copy the selected slice's sound settings.
`Cmd`+`V`	Paste them onto the selected slice.
`Cmd`+`Shift`+`V`	Paste them onto every slice of the track.
`Alt`+`1` to `4`	Show variation A to D.
`Cmd`+`Shift`+`R`	Resample the selected track into the first empty track.

Multitrack screen

`Delete` or `Backspace`	Delete the selected part; or, after a click in the automation lane, the selected points.
`Cmd`+`D`	Copy the selected part to the first free place after it.
`Alt`+`1` to `4`	Make the selected part play variation A to D.

Import and record page

`R`	Start / stop recording.
`Space`, `Return`	Stop recording. Otherwise: play the selection once, or stop.
`Esc`	Leave without loading anything.

Project and editing

`Cmd`+`Z` / `Cmd`+`Shift`+`Z`	Undo / Redo.
`Cmd`+`N` / `O`	New project / Open.
`Cmd`+`S` / `Cmd`+`Shift`+`S`	Save / Save As.
`Cmd`+`E`	Export.

In the sample browser, after a click in it: Delete removes the selected added folder from the list. In its search field: Esc clears the search.

While a page is open (settings, MIDI Mappings, VST3 Plugins, import, record), the editing keys (Delete, Cmd+D, Cmd+C / V, Alt+1 to 4, Left / Right) do nothing.

Mouse: any control

Drag a knob or a fader	Change its value.
Double-click a knob or a fader	Back to its default.
Right-click a knob, fader or switch	MIDI Learn, Remove MIDI mapping, Reset to default, MIDI Mappings.
Drag the BPM box, or double-click it	Change the tempo, or type it.
Hold the mouse over a key	Its name and shortcut.

Mouse: waveform

Click	Select the block playing there, and its slice.
`Cmd`+click	Add it to the selection, or take it out.
`Shift`+click	Select from the last one clicked to this one.
Double-click	Cut a slice there.
Click, with the Slice tool on	Cut a slice there.
Drag the start or end of a slice	Trim that piece.
Drag a triangle in the ruler	Move a part marker.
Right-click	Add slice here, Remove slice, Silence slice (all copies), Copy / Paste slice parameters, Reset region, Zoom to fit, Clear slices.
Wheel, or pinch	Zoom around the mouse.
`Shift`+wheel, sideways swipe, scrollbar	Scroll.
Drop an audio file	Load it into the selected track.

Mouse: lane of blocks

Click a block	Select it (`Cmd` and `Shift` as in the waveform).
Click the selected block again	Select the block under it.
Drag a block	Move it.
`Alt`-drag a block	Copy it.
Drag a block's right edge	Make it longer or shorter.
Double-click an empty place	Add the selected slice there.
Right-click a block	Mute / Unmute, Reset length, Reset block parameters, Overlap: Cut / Crossfade, Move up / down, Duplicate after, Delete, Copy / Paste slice parameters.
Right-click the lane	Reset to automatic sequence.
Click a letter A B C D	Show that variation.
Right-click a letter	Create as a copy, Clear, Delete.

Mouse: tracks

Click a tab (Sample) or a row (Multitrack)	Select the track.
Right-click a tab or a row	Rename..., Colour, Duplicate content to, Duplicate variation to, Resample to a free track.
Double-click a track's name	Rename it (tool row of the Sample screen, Multitrack row, Mixer strip).
Click the pencil of a row	Open the track on the Sample screen.
Drop an audio file on a row	Load it into that track.

Mouse: Multitrack timeline

Click or drag the ruler	Place the cursor (`Cmd`: off the grid).
Drag on the strip above the ruler	Draw the loop range; drag its ends or middle to change it.
Double-click the strip	Loop the whole project.
Click a part	Select it.
Drag a part	Move it (`Cmd`: off the grid).
`Alt`-drag a part	Copy it.
Double-click an empty place	Add a part.
Double-click a part	Edit it on the Sample screen.
Right-click a part	Duplicate, Delete, Variation, Edit in the Sample screen.

Mouse: automation lane

With W on.

Click in a part (Points tool)	Add a point (`Cmd`: off the grid).
Drag a point	Move the selected points (`Shift`: value only).
Drag on the lane	Select the points in the rectangle.
Double-click a point	Delete it.
Drag (Pencil)	Draw a curve.
Drag (Line)	Draw a straight line or a ramp.
Right-click	Delete, Clear the parameter in this part.

Mouse: mixer, browser, import page

Click an effect slot	Show editor, Bypass, Remove, Insert plugin / Replace with.
Browser: click a file	Preview it.
Browser: double-click a file	Load it into the selected track.
Browser: drag a file onto a track	Load it there.
Browser: right-click	Add to / Remove from favourites, Show in Folders, Remove from the browser, Remove from recent, Clear recent.
Import page: drag across the waveform	Draw the selection.
Import page: drag a triangle	Move the start or the end of the selection.
Import page: click the waveform	Listen from there.

The menus

Menu	Items
Chop	About Chop, Quit.
